Manchester United vs Burnley 29 Nov 2016

I watched the game with my usual nephews.

Before the match, I thought to myself that this will be an easy 3-points, as Burnley did not pick any points on any matches this season (2016/17).

Huge amount of changes went begging and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Up until 29 Nov 2016, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool are top 3

Tottenham and Chelsea looks to complete the list of top 5 BPL teams.

Reality struck me that this Manchester United team under Jose Mourinho will be good to occupy 6th place, or 5th place in BPL 2016/17.

It is still early days, but the gap is widening and will be very difficult to catch the top 5 teams.

But I will still watch every MU game and enjoy myself, whatever is the result.

I lost my Casio watch

It has been 2 days that I lost my watch...my favourite Casio watch.

The last time I wore it was when I attended a meeting on 8th Sep in Bagan Lalang some 90KM from Kuala Lumpur.

I searched for it everywhere. But could not find it.

It bugs me and made me sad.

But wait.... it is Allah's will that my watch is lost.

I must be grateful for  a million other things that is NOT lost. Why do I have to feel sad. I should be ever grateful.

I make doa to Allah NOT to be an ungrateful person. One worldly item lost does not effect my iman. In fact it strengthens the iman

If ever I find my watch... it is Allah's will. If I don't get it back, it is completely OK.

Aamiin

No surprise to anyone. But Allah is ALL Knowing

The month of Zulhijjah 2016

1st Zulhijjah falls on Saturday (3 Sep 2016).

The 1st 10 days of Zulhijjah will be 3/9-12/9.

There is a tafsir  for the ayat in surah Fajr:2, that these 10 nights of the first 10 days of the month of Zulhijjah is referred. Some mufasirrun says that the 10 nights referred is the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Whatever is the tafsir, if we believers cover both the period, we will never go wrong. Allah is the All knowing.

My target is to memorize Surah Abasa (80th Surah).

Ya Rabb, please help me to memorize this wonderful surah. This surah has 42 ayats. If successful, this will be the longest surah that I memorize.

The longest surah that I achieve to memorize so far is surah Mutaffifin (83rd surah).

My bigger role is to be able to memorize ALL the 30th juz of the Quran.

Make doa for me please....

Be Grateful and Humble

I love to write short stories.

That is the main reason why I blog. I have been blogging since 2008. I take inspiration from my close friends who use to blog. Now I am the only one remaining that still actively blog.

Recently, my feeling is very much attached to my Maker (Allah). Not that I am pious.

But recent events have pulled me closer to Allah.

I share my experiences not because I try to show-off. I am very afraid that my postings makes me arrogant. Please tell me so...

I try very much to share what I went through in this beautiful life with other people.

This life is indeed wonderful and full of incidents. There are good things and there are bad ones as well. But if we are grateful, this life is so wonderful that every moment is so valuable.

Another trait is always be humble . There is no need for us to show-off. Everybody is being given blessings from Allah as a slave. Slaves need to be humble to his master.

There is no wonderful feeling than to be humble to one's Master. And to always be thankful to Him.

Ya Rabb, please always make me grateful and humble to You.

Aamiin

The month of Zulkaedah 2016

My uncle passed away 13 Zulkaedah 1437 (16 Aug 2016) in Johor Bahru.

I am deeply saddened on the loss of 2 close family members.

I went to both of their "perkebumian" (burial)

May Allah blessed on their souls and grant them jannah. Aamiin

One day I will join them to be returned to the Maker.

Surah al-Hadid of the Quran

This surah Hadid is named Iron (translated from Arabic)

It is the 57 surah in the Quran. Iron is mentioned in the 25 ayat of this surah.

Let us try to relate Quran and science.

In the periodic table, iron (its scientific name is Ferrum (Fe)) atomic mass in 56.
It's atomic number is 26.

But for stable Ferrum, there are 4:- Fe54, Fe56, Fe57 and Fe58.

It is the most common element on Earth, forming much of Earth's outer and inner core.

There is a reason behind Fe57 that clearly connects iron as a metal and surah Al-Hadid (57) of the Quran.

There is also connection between its atomic number 26 with the 25 ayat.

I do not know how to relate Quran and science, but I am close.

Quran is a book of signs from Allah. We need to seek the deeper understanding of what Allah is telling us which takes more effort, rather than a direct meaning.

Allah is the ALL knowing

Future CEO

I went to an audition which was organised by my company way back in April 2016.

The company wants to find corporate leaders who will lead the organisation in the future. It is called Future CEO.

It is open to ALL executives to find potential leaders at ALL levels.

There are 4 levels of the audition. You need to pass the 1st level in order to proceed to the next level, and so on until the 4th level.

This is the 2nd time they did it. The first time, 34 people were selected from 400 participants. There are certain criteria for selection.

Anyway,I prepared myself for this. I found out that I am the oldest participant.

My initial audition was on a Monday, but due to prior commitment, I asked the organiser to postpone and they rescheduled my on Thursday.

I gave my best and I make doa to Allah for the rest.

I did not make it to the second round!

The only consolation (if any) is that the panel took a long time to decide on my presentation in the level 1 audition. This is according to the secretariat.

Am I frustrated?.... A bit

Well, I did participate. I gave my best shot. I submit to Allah

I guess that I am not a corporate leader.

But wait... I want to be the obedient slave of Allah. I gave my best. Allah has better plans for me.

All in all I thank the organiser for giving me a chance. But most of All, I thank Allah for all that happens.

Alhamdulillah

Why Why Why....

Sometimes we ask some very hard questions

Why does Allah wants to test us in this world?

If he is so Merciful, why did He create a lot of sufferings in this world?

Why is this life unfair? Why can't everything be fair and square?

For a true believe; is to believe in the unseen.

In surah Baqarah:30 (the last part) Allah explains "I know what you don't know"

This is exactly what the angels asks Allah why did Allah wants to create humankind in this world, while He Knows that humans do corrupt things and shed blood, unlike the angels who constantly praise and sanctify to Allah.

Allah responded "I know what you don't know"

Just this word from the All Knowing is enough to answer all our hard questions.

When we were young, we always ask why do we have to study in order to be successful in life.
Why do we have to take test after test? If the teacher cares for us, why did he torture us with all this homework? This is really unfair!! Why can't teachers and parents leave us alone to play all day long?

For all the questions about Allah, He (Allah) answers that I know what you don't know; is enough to make us follow what He commands

I do not intend to write long articles, but to have complete FAITH in Allah, rest assured and guarantee that we will be successful in this world and the hereafter.

Ya Rabb, please2 guide me to the straight path. Aamiin

AADC2 and being a traveler

I just saw this Indonesian movie. Ada apa dengan cinta2 (AADC2). Nice movie about a man named Rangga who tries to connect with his past.

He lives in New York USA, but he came back to his roots in Indonesia. He tries to connect back with his mother and his lover.

Anyway what is fascinating about this film is Rangga differentiate between a tourist and a traveler.

A tourist plans for his travelling, having to arrange for all sorts of details, itinerary and schedules. Everything must be well planned.

While a traveler gives minimum to planning. He just go with the flow. Whatever comes, he will plan there and then. The excitement is discovering the unexpected.

It is similar to life. We are all travelers. Yes we plan our life, what we want to be. But what turns out somewhat is different to what we initially plan. Because Allah is the BEST Planner.

True believers will plan and then surrender to Allah. What happens is the WILL of Almighty Allah.

Have faith that Allah's plan has its turns and is the BEST for His slaves even though we may not know the benefits of His plan.

Allah is very subtle and in total control of  His plans

Take the story of Yusof in the Quran.

All the trials and tribulations that Yusof went through sets the scene for the best for him and his family.

Yaacob (the father) too never gave up hope and Allah unites him with his long lost son.

Let us all be travelers in the journey of life

The month of Syawal

The 1st of Syawal is where Muslims celebrate Eidil Fitri after 1 month of fasting.

Muslims celebrate by praising Allah for all the blessings and good things that has happened to us.

Last year Syawal (18 Syawal) my youngest sister pass away peacefully in Auckland New Zealand.
Her name is Dr Zaidah Mustaffa aged 40 when she pass away.

This year Syawal (8 Syawal) my younger brother(in-law) had a viral attack to his brain and in Intensive Care Unit, Hospital until today (23 Syawal). He is 44 years old. His name is Azali Yaacob.

This year Syawal (11 Syawal) my uncle had a massive stroke and in Intensive Care Unit, Hospital until today (23 Syawal). He is 67 years old. His name is Ismail Mimfari.

I went to Auckland, New Zealand last year.

I went to Kota Bharu to visit my brother.

I went to Johor Bahru to visit my uncle.

I saw sadness and high hope among family members.

I realise that Allah is in total control of the situation. He KNOWS. He TESTS us.

He wants us to be near Him and have FAITH in Him.

O Allah, you are my Rabb. I ONLY ask from you for the best for all mankind.

We are your slave and we have Complete FAITH in you.

The passing of Muhammad Ali - World's Greatest Boxer

I received the new of the passing away of former world heavyweight boxer, Muhammad Ali on Friday evening 3 Jun 2016 when I was on holiday with my family in Singapore.

I felt sad. Muhammad Ali was my late father's favorite boxer. He used to be excited when there is a fight involving Ali.

I still remember how my late father used to talk about how great Ali is when he danced around the ring. "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee"

May Allah give His mercy to both Muhammad Ali and my late father Mustaffa Menfari.

However great we are, we shall return to Allah.

Allah hu Akbar

Some amazing Quran facts

A little fact about the Amazing Quran

1. An ayat in the Quran that has all 28 alphabet of the Arabic. (Alif & Hamzah is considered 1alphabet) is Surah Fath:29

2. A surah that has Allah in ALL its ayat is surah Mujadillah.

3. Besides 2 Masjidil Haram, Masjid Al-Aqsa & Masjid Quba', there is one mosque mentioned in the Quran (Taubah:107) that is Al-Dirar.

This mosque was situated near Masjid Quba in Madinah. It was built by the munafiquun. It was destroyed by fire.

As Ramadan approaches, let us be closer to the Quran... insyaallah

Let me show you something better

Islam is NOT about "Ïslam is better than your religion"

Islam IS "Let me show you something BETTER for you"

If you follow, it will be good for you. If you do not follow, then you are the one who will be at loss.

With this statement is the dakwah to non-Muslim.

If they follow us, well and good

If they do not follow us, truly we have done our obligation to show them something special and they do not want it. Give your best.. and leave the rest (to Allah)

Ya Rabb, make us ALL Muslims and invite us to enter your jannah

This ayats keeps coming in my mind....

Assalamualaikum,

Lately the is this ayat in the Quran that has been appearing in my mind.

Actually this ayat is repeated 4 times in Surah Al-Qalam (54th Surah of Quran)."It appears in 17,22, 32 and 40.

The meaning

And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will learn from it?

This clearly shows that Allah has made the Quran easy for us. No doubt the deeper understanding of the Quran needs more study. But generally Quran is made easy for us to remember and to learn from it.

Following each of these ayats is a short story of past ummah that did not follow Allah's reminder and the result is the ummah is being destroyed.

Ayat 18-21 People of Ad
Ayat 23-31 People of Tsamud
Ayat 33-39 People of Lut
Ayat 41-44 People of Firaun

These ayats clearly demonstrate that:-

1. Allah has made Quran easy to understand

2. Please2.. take the lesson from the Quran and live with it

3. If you do NOT follow Allah's way, then prepare yourselves for destruction

Powerful2 ayat. And scary one as well.

As slaves of Allah, let us follow Allah's commandments for our own good and well being. It is more for us rather than for Allah.

Ya Rabb, make us among your slaves that follow and live by your ayats.

Aamiin

My current thoughts

Towards the end of April 2016, my thoughts are always towards remembering Allah.

Lately, by choice or chance, I have been remembering Allah on a constant basis.

There are 2 things that come to my mind when remember Allah:-

1. The gratitude and syukr for ALL the blessings that Allah has given

2. The patience and sabr when Allah tests us ALL in this worldly life

There is no better way to find peace and tranquility than remembering Allah azzawajal.

Ya Rabb, continue to give me this constant rememberance of Allah.

To You we submit and to You we shall return....

Don't be sad/grieve

Lately I have been reflecting on my life so far and what I have achieved.

There are many things that have happened to me that are good and bad as well. They all make life so very interesting.

There are many people that I know. Good and bad ones. Again these people decorated my life.

Sometimes I feel sad for a certain things that has happened to me. But wait a minute.... we are Muslims & Mukmin.

We shall not grieve.
We have Allah with us. In Quran there are 13 verses that emphasis on this:

Baqarah: 38, 62, 112, 262, 274, 277 (6 ayats)
Imran:170 (1 ayat)
Maidah: 69 (1 ayat)
An'Am: 48 (1 ayat)
A'raf: 35 (1 ayat)
Yunus: 62 (1 ayat)
Zumar: 61 (1 ayat)
Ahqaf: 13 (1 ayat)

The meaning "no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve"

A true Mukmin will not be grieve as ALL in this world and the skies belongs to Allah. Even our own body belongs to Allah and we shall return to Him eventually.

It is okay to grieve for a while as we are humans with emotions. But life goes on..

I began to smile by myself. Indeed Allah makes us feel sad sometimes to draw us closer to Him. Thank Allah for drawing us closer to Him with His Wisdom.

Whatever happens has its purpose. If we can channel back ALL that has happened to Allah, we truly are His slaves.

Ya Rabb, guide us to your straight path.

Aamiin.

I lost my collection of thumb drives

The whole collection of my thumb drives that I collected since 2005 was stolen during the period where my office was under renovation.

Almost all of the thumb drives I got it for free when attending seminars/workshops.

They range from 0.25GB to 8GB.

I felt sad as they are my collection... it means a lot to me as I love my collection.

Wait a minute. This reminds me of life.

Life is a gift from Allah. Allah is my Master. He gives it to His slaves whatever He wishes. He takes whatever He wishes.

Just like my collection of thumb drives, they are gifts that I got. When it is lost, just let go, as it is not yours to feel sad about.

Everything in the skies and the earth belongs to Allah.

Remember Him always and we will be at peace All the time.

Ya Rabb, make me and all of us your slaves that you are pleased upon.

We need your Compassion & your Blessing

Aamiin

Tribute to Surau Salahuddin community Section 14 PJ

I have been living in Section 14 Petaling Jaya, Selangor since 1969, almost the entire part of my life.

This posting is dedicated to the community that I lived.

There is this Surau Salahuddin that I normally go to perform my daily prayers. It started operation in 1972. It has been around for 44 years now.

There were many of  the original members that have passed away since. I cannot mention all of them. I can mention only a few that is still around and are very old.

They used to me very young during the seventies when I was a kid.

Thank you my community for being a close knit family and helping each other during good and bad times.

May Allah reward us all. Aamiin

Man Utd lost away to Sunderland

I saw the match with my buddy.

Man United were awful. They deserve to lose. Gone are the days that you enjoy the attacking Man United games.

At this rate it is difficult to see Man United in 4th place & qualify for Europe next season.

LVG is in tremendous pressure. Not only with the results but with his philosophy of playing.

I will now switch to observing Leceister City. If they win the BPL, it is truly a fairy tale.

The last of the wedding reception was done in Kota Bharu on Sat 23 Jan 2016.

This was to cater for people in KB (my significant other's side) that could not make it in KL on 2nd Jan 2016.

The reception was very nice indeed in a kampong atmosphere.

It started with doa selamat at 11.45am.

Then makan2 from 12-5pm.

Many people came. Estimated was 500 guests. They come & go as they please.

There was also girls from Rumah Anak2 Yatim Siti Aminah in KB which consists of 35 people.

All in all, this last reception was the closure of my 1st daughter's wedding.

I try to invite as many friends as I can in order to celebrate and share the joy of my historic moment.

To Aliah and Khai, best wishes to both of you in your newly married life.

To guests who came to my event, May Allah bless us All.

Aamiin

We arrived at 1pm with the kompang boys.

I was seated at the main table.

Me & wife
Maknab & PC Razak
Dato Faruk & Aida
Datuk Rahman & Maktok
Faisal & Rudy + Makjah naik ke pelamin untuk menenjis.

The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Thank you all for the time. May Allah help us all. Aamiin

Dilwale

I saw this incredible Hindustan movie entitle Dilwale.

It is a very good entertainment movie and the producer really knows how to make the movie watchers entertained.

Violence & drugs, pretty women, dancing, romance, fantastic scenery, flashy cars with beautiful music in the background..makes all of us in dreamland.

Entertainment -> Yes

Reality Check -> No

This sort of films will make people dream and happy for a while. Then when they found out that these things are not real... people will become frustrated and tensed.

Only the remembrance of Allah will make the heart calm/peace (Raad:28)

New prediction for BPL 2016

My earlier prediction for BPL 2016.
1. Man United
2. Man City
3. Arsenal
4. Chelsea

My new prediction for BPL 2016 (early Feb 2016)
1. Leceister City
2. Man City
3. Arsenal
4. Tottenham

My beloved MU, they will be in 5th place. I will renew my prediction come May 2016.

Yes, I am a dreamer when I predicted than MU will win this year's BPL.

But that only shows that I am a human and prediction is always wrong..

Why Allah made us

I just finished reading this incredible book.

It explains why Allah made humans in the Quran

There are 2 main reasons:-

1. To enslave to Him. (Surah: AzZaariyat:56)

2. To manage this world (Surah Baqarah:30) ie Caliph in this world

So one is the relationship with Allah and two is the relationship with humans as well as Allah's creations

But there is this 3 end-game that Allah has made humans. And it is written all over the Quran.

3. So that certain humans will join Allah in the afterlife.

This is the End Game. If we do the 2 things correctly for His sake in this world, we will join Allah in the next world.

Masyaallah, this is really incredible. May Allah gave us the strength to guide us to do the 2 things and grant us the No.3

Aamiin

The wedding reception

The reception was held at my house in PJ on he 2nd January 2016.
My guests list is approximately 1,100. This is based on 550 cards that I have distributed since 1 Dec 2015.

The groom side came at 11.30 am. There is this toll-gate created incident where my relatives made human barricades in order to block the groom from entering the house. In order for the groom (and his entourage) to enter, they must pay a sum of money to the human barricade for them to pass through. It was fun and memorable.

I and my cousins, we did selawat for Rasulullah SAW when the groom finally entered the house to join the bride. This was NOT in the agenda.. it was inpromtu and it worked brilliantly.

By 12pm, oceans of people came to the house. I just cannot remember how many came, but MANY came.

I was permanently stationed at the entrance of my house in order to greet the in-coming guests and to thank the out-going guests
by giving the door gifts.

Old friends (MCKK colleagues), neighbours, surau/masjid friends, TNB friends, university mates, distance relatives..  they came with their families.

My ceremony was until 4pm. By 3pm, the food was almost finished! What!!

More food was ordered as may people still come between 3-4pm
Wow! This is really incredible!

I thank everyone who came to my daughter's reception on 2nd Jan 2016. I was overwhelming! I panicked a bit when told that the food was about to finished at 3pm. But I felt relieved when new food came at 3.30pm. We had to even take the food from the main table to serve the guests.

When it finally finished, I am really exhausted. But it was well worth it.

Alhamdulillah.. All praise be to Allah

Strategy for 2016

For me 2016 came in a bang!

Frankly, I did not prepare for 2016. I just married my daughter.

My youngest daughter went to a hostel.

My wife opened a small shop.

What I expect, is that 2016 is a year that I can reflect A year of reflection. A year without any new resolutions, but a year to strengthen whatever that has been planned.

Ya Rabb, help me through 2016 with all the changes.

Aaamiin

My daughter got married

My eldest daughter got married on the 1st Jan 2016.

I will write on the days that is affected.

The build-ip to the wedding started on Thu 31 Dec 2015. This was the last day of the year. The house was being decorated in order to accommodate 250 guests at any one time. Massive work was done both inside and outside of the house.

At night, many of my close women relatives came to the house for "berinai". It is something to do with women...

On the 1st of Jan 2016 (Fri), I woke-up at 4am. Got to fetch my Boyan relatives at TBS (Bus Terminal). They came all the way from Johor.
Continue with last minute preparations. Did Jumaat prayers at Kg Tungku mosque.

By 6pm, I have to get ready for the solemnisation (akad).

The close relatives started to come at 8pm. I invited approximately 70 people to witness this historic moment.

Then the groom and his entourage of 50 people came at 8.45pm.
The ustaz came at 9.15pm. The akad was performed in a very nice manner by myself at 9.45pm and witnessed by Ustaz Hazley of Masjid Bulat. I have (by then) transferred my responsibility of my daughter to another person. Aamiin.

Then, all the guests had dinner starting at 10pm and lasted until 11pm. I saw my guests were very happy. They wish me good things. I am so very happy

Alhamdulillah. I thank Allah on this day.. and I shall continue thanking Allah every passing day..

My daughter got engaged

13th Dec 2015 was the date that my eldest daughter got engaged.

Exactly one year ago (Dec 2014), a young man by the name of Khairulnazmi came to my house to ask if he could plan to have
my eldest daughter as his future wife.

On that Sunday (13 Dec 2015), about 40 people came to my house for the engagement. What I plan to be a simple ceremony became quite an event.

My close cousin (Jajak) became my spokesperson with 5 trays of gifts changing hands.

I am grateful to Allah that a young and good person asked for my daughter.

Insyaallah everything will be good.
